Do you regret something?
Bijgewerkt op: 4 mei 2020
Last Friday I was having lunch with a colleague in a small Rotterdam eatery. In the background, the song by French singer Edith Piaf "Non, je ne regrette rien" (No, I don't regret anything). I had heard this song before but the lyrics now started to dawn on me. "Non, je ne regrette rien"... are you able to agree with her? Maybe like me, you sometimes look back on your life to the choices you have made in the past. Decisions that have changed the direction of your life and how a decision you make in a fraction of a second can change your whole life in one fell swoop. Some of the choices you may still regret many years later and make you think, ‘If only I had done it differently’, ‘If only I had been more careful, braver or more patient’. With all your good intentions, no matter how pure and sincere, you can get in the way of yourself or others. With the right intention you can make the wrong decision. Life is so complicated sometimes. How do you look back on the important choices you have made in your life? Could it be that some mistakes in your past have shaped and prepared you for your calling today and have worked out for the best in the end? Beautiful questions that you can take with you in your backpack to Santiago de Compostela where you will have the time and space to ponder…..
Have you been thinking about walking the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela for some time but you are not sure whether it is really something for you? Then why not do one of our TRY-OUT weekends in which all aspects of the hike to Santiago are discussed.
